Kim Kardashian does a victory lap at Ciara’s baby shower: smug or depressed?

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian attending Ciara’s baby shower with Lucifer’s Homegirl and Lala Anthony on Saturday. I don’t think her outfit is flattering at all, and I think Kim’s gotten so much Botox, it’s like she’s incapable of making any expression other than “grumpy” or “open mouth vague.” It’s weird because this should have been Kim’s victory lap, you know? This is a new high point for her and a Vogue cover means that she’s “arrived” as a Fashion Girl to some extent. But Kim looks kind of depressed to me. Maybe she wasn’t expecting the extreme backlash she (and Anna Wintour) received.
Personally, I tend to think that this was something Kanye West wanted for Kim rather than something Kim has always wanted for herself. Kim enjoys the spoils of being Kanye’s girlfriend, for sure. She has better access to designers and photographers and editors and Kanye’s connections have already gotten her some major magazine covers over the past few years. I believe that Kanye was the one who wanted his girl on Vogue and Kim just went along with it. Kim did sound very excited when she Instagram’d the cover though – she wrote: “This is such a dream come true!!! Thank you @VogueMagazine for this cover! O M GGGGGG!!! I can’t even breath!” It’s “breathe,” Kim.
Kim and Kanye haven’t even directly addressed the backlash yet, but I’m sure it’s coming. This reminds me of Kim’s weight gain while pregnant and how she played that. First she gained a lot of weight, which was completely normal. Then she lied about how much weight she gained and when people were like, “OMG, cat-faced liar,” Kim then played it like she was being “bullied” for her weight gain. I think we’re going to see a repeat of that – Kim will act like we’re bullying her about the cover. Wait for it.

Chris Hemsworth & Elsa Pataky Welcome Twin Sons!

It's a boy! And another boy! Actors Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth welcomed two healthy sons today! Their rep confirmed the baby news, but haven't given any further information about the new Hemsworth boys, other than sharing that they were born at Cedars-Sinai this morning.
This is the second and third child for the couple, who married in 2010. The Hemsworth twins will join big sister India, who will turn two in May.
Chris and Elsa kept her pregnancy under wraps until November and then in mid-January they fessed up that they were expecting twins!
If the couple is stumped for baby names, might we suggest Thor and Loki?

Kate Upton. That Fatty.

I guess this is the end of the world.   Right? We are there.   Because the rage about Kate Upton’s appearance in a lingerie fashion show on a blog called SkinnyGossip (I will refrain from comparisions in said blog’s title, design and colour scheme to another blog we know) is possibly the craziest thing I’ve seen this year. So the apocalypse must be coming.
It’s 2012 and we’re media literate.  You know that you can find fat-hatred anywhere you choose to look online.  That the “banishing” of pro-ana blogs did exactly zero. So it shouldn’t be such a surprise that this blog exists, that people frequent it, or that there’s no immunity for anyone.
It’s the ANGER that gets me here.  How DARE this woman be visible and famous looking like that (“that” = sexy and luscious and kick-ass)?  Her crime isn’t that she looks better than most of us ever will – her crime is that she’s famous and notable and has opportunities and roles and attention that the blogs and the commenters will never have.  How dare she?
How dare she like herself? How dare she make money on herself?  How dare she find a way to fit her ever-so-slightly nontraditional by model/actress standards body into the famous people’s lexicon? That’s NOT HOW IT WORKS.   You have to be skinny to the point of death to be famous or fashionable and if you’re not you have to hate yourself and cry forever and everyone knows that and that’s why I’m not fashiony or famous because I’m not perfect like fill-in-the-borderline-anorexic-of-your-choice so why does she get to be? It’s not fairrrrrr.  It’s meaaaaaannnn.  I’ve accepted the rules of hating myself so why doesn’t she know she has to hate herself?
It is, of course, worse because she’s not famous for something else.   She’s not a comedian or a singer where people can say “well, for that kind of a job, I guess the body is OK”.  She’s famous for being beautiful.   She is fudging the rules of the game that everyone internalized the summer they were 11, and she is winning at it.  She gets to be happy with her body, and that is just unfair. That bitch.
So if you were wondering how we were doing, on getting a broader range of bodies accepted in the mainstream media – that’s how. Jesus.

Anita Baker Arrest Warrant Issued; Singer Alleges Conspiracy By Contractor, Judge

Singer Anita Baker is speaking out, alleging that she is the victim of a sinister conspiracy which led police to take out a warrant for her arrest this week.

A Detroit judge issued the warrant for the Grammy-winning singer after she supposedly failed to show up in court over a dispute with a home contractor.
Anita hired Ray Smith Painting and Decorating in 2009 to fix storm damage to her home, paying $60,000 up front for a $75,000 job. The issue?
Baker says Smith didn't finish the job, and what he did do was beyond bad. So much so that she finished it herself. Still, he's suing her for the balance.
She never even got served with legal papers, she claims, so when she no-showed the court date, she didn't realize she was no-showing anything.
When that happens, the judge can enter a default judgment, which happened here, ordering her to pay the $15,000. Which she didn't do, of course.
The contractor then tried to haul Anita Baker into court and grill her about where she kept her money, so he could go after it to satisfy the judgment.
The contractor claims he slapped the notice on her front door; Anita says she was on tour, never saw a notice and doesn't believe it was ever there.


As a result, Anita was a no-show a second time for that hearing, and on Wednesday, the judge issued the arrest warrant, leaving her shocked.
"I've never been in trouble with the law. I'm terrified," she said.
Baker says this isn't the first time someone has pulled this on her, as she's been served with legal papers and lost the case by default before.
It's not clear for what, but Anita's lawyer tells Celebritywatchdog that he's going to court next week to get the warrant lifted and the default judgment thrown out.
We'll see how successful he is in that pursuit.

In a sneak peek of the upcoming EPIX original documentary Who the F--k is Arthur Fogel?, the singer admits she actually was bankrupt during her 2009 Monsters Ball tour.

"I had $3 million dollars in the bank to my name and I threw it all in to make my stage," the 27-year-old says in a clip, via Entertainment Tonight. "So I was bankrupt during the show."

"I remember I went home and I was with my dad and he said, 'I don't understand. 'Bad Romance' is out. You are all over the radio. Everyone is talking about you and you don't have a pot to piss in.' I said, 'Just let me do this. Let me just put it on the stage because I think if I can do this I can get Arthur Fogel's attention.' And I did."

Indeed, Fogel, the chairman of Live Nation's global touring division, came to the entertainer with a deal that made the sacrifice all worth it. "I remember he called me and he said, 'We want to do this.' And he got Live Nation to write me a $40 million check. And it changed my life and the life of my whole family," Gaga said.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Wedding: Guests’ Phones Are Banned

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s wedding is becoming as secretive as a CIA operation. Guests will have to sign a confidentiality agreement and hand over their cell phones in an effort to prevent any unauthorized photos or videos from being leaked to the public. Say what?

You would think Kanye West, 36, and Kim Kardashian, 33, are filming their wedding for a TV special, because the two have gone through great lengths to ensure that not one word, photo, or bit of video will be published without their authorization, a source revealed to Celebritywatchdog.

Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Wedding: Forcing Guests To Sign Confidentiality Agreements

Fans are going to have to wait until Kim and Kanye are ready to release any photos or videos from their star-packed wedding event. Guests who attend will be forced to sign a strict confidentiality agreement as well as hand over their cell phones to ensure no images are leaked.
“Guests will have to go through extensive security, even most of Kim and Kanye’s celebrity friends,” the source said.
The wedding is scheduled to take place at Chateau d’Usse, in Paris on May 24. The power-couple do not want a repeat of Kanye’s marriage proposal to Kim, which was leaked online by YouTube co-founder, Chad Hurley.

“Mobile devices will be held at a secure location and if someone needs to use [it] during the festivities — accommodations will be made,” the source said. “This is all designed to discourage guests from using their phones.”
If someone violates the terms of the contract, they will likely be sued, the insider added.

Josh Brolin admits trying heroin

Josh Brolin has admitted to experimenting with heroin.


The 'Men In Black 3' actor has opened up on his past struggles with the "horrible" class A drug admitting that while he never became addicted to the substance, he has 19 friends who have all died after overdosing on the drug.
Josh told The Guardian newspaper: "I tried heroin. That sounds so horrible when you put it like that. But yeah, I tried heroin.
"I mean, I never got into it and I never died from it, which is a good thing, but I've had 19 friends who died. Most of those guys I grew up with, they're all dead now."
The 46-year-old actor admits he used to be open to experimenting with different drugs, in a bid to live life to the fullest, however he now regrets putting his life in danger.
Josh explained: "I used to think you should try to deconstruct everything. Experience everything. Just get yourself out there. But I don't believe that any more. Having adventures is all very well, but an imagination can make up for all that. That's the more intelligent way to be. And it keeps you out of harm's way."
Brolin also opened up about being arrested for public intoxication on New Year's Day 2013 and the subsequent break-up of his marriage with Diane Lane.
He mused: "It was another turning point.But I realized that I was on a destructive path. I knew that I had to change and mature.

Angelina Jolie to undergo preventative cancer surgery

Angelina Jolie's made the impressive and brave decision not only to undergo preventative cancer surgery, but also to keep the public informed every step of the way. In a New York Times opinion piece that went viral last may, the Maleficent star and mother of six told the world of her decision to have a pre-emptive double mastectomy.

Now, once again, Angie has come forward with another startling confession - her mission to stay healthy is far from over. "There's still another surgery to have, which I haven't yet," the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award winner explained in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. "I'll, you know, I'll get advice from all these wonderful people who've I've been talking to, to get through the next stage."
She's made these difficult choices after genetic testing revealed she carries the BRCA1 gene mutation, which puts women at a higher risk for developing reproductive cancers. Apparently, since her confessional, there's been a significant increase in genetic testing at treatment centers nationwide. The TIME dubbed the phenomena "the Angelina Jolie effect," but really, with approximately 1 in 8 American women developing breast cancer during their lifetime, no press is bad press.
In addition to the numbers, the Girl, Interrupted star's post-surgery experience shows just how profoundly her struggle has raised awareness of these universal issues. "I feel very, very close-much closer-to other women, and women who are going through the same thing," Jolie holds. "Wherever I go, usually I run into women and we talk about health issues, women's issues, breast cancer, ovarian cancer. I've talked to men about their daughters' and wives' health. It makes me feel closer to other people who deal with the same things and have either lost their parents or are considering surgeries or wondering about their children...The reason that I wrote it was to try to communicate and help and connect with other women and other families going through the same thing. And…I was very, very moved by all the support and kindness from so many people."
 For a woman who clearly loves mothering children, we can only imagine how difficult this realization must have been. However, it's perhaps a necessary evil, given that Jolie's own mother, Marcheline Bertrand, passed away from ovarian cancer at the relatively young age of 56. We all know that, should the Jolie-Pitts wish to further expand their brood, they've got no qualms about adopting. Right now, both Brad and Angie's main concern is the good of their family: "I will do anything to be with them as long as I can," the Academy Award-winning actress wrote in last year's Op-Ed. "[Brad and I] knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has."
Months later, despite the prospect of more surgery, the actor-turned-director's resolve has not wavered: "I'm great!...I'm very happy I made the decision," she affirms. "I was very fortunate to have great doctors and very, very fortunate to have a good recovery and have a project like Unbroken to have something to be really focused on, to be getting healthy for, and to be able to just get right back to work."

Kanye West puts Kim Kardashian on ‘lockdown’ following Viennese disaster.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have apparently set the date, at least according to Us Weekly. Kimye will walk down the aisle on May 24th… in Paris. Sure. They were originally supposed to do it later, like June or July, but they’ve moved up the date for reasons unknown. The 24th is also the final night of the Cannes Film Festival, so there you go.
In other Kardashian-West news, you know how Kris Jenner sold Kim to Richard Lugner for one night? Lucifer’s Homegirl collected $500,000 out of that deal and all Kim got was the back of the pimp hand. No, that’s not true. Kim also got accosted by a “comedian” in blackface and she had to stand there as people dropped the n-word (for jokes!). And before the Vienna Opera Ball even happened, Lugner was bitching about how Kim was a big pain in the ass. So, basically, Kim got crazy drama for one 24-hour period and Kris was rolling in money. So, obviously, Yeezington has put his foot down and now he’s putting his love on lockdown:

The Keeping Up with the Kardashian star’s appearance at the party ended with her date Richard Lugner publicly slamming her as “annoying” and then the E! star being accosted by a man in blackface.
Upset, 33-year-old Kardashian called West, who was “livid,” a source told Radar.
“He went nuclear when Kim told him someone had used the N-word in front of her and one of the guests was dressed in blackface. It was his advice to leave right away, no questions asked.”
As we previously reported, Kardashian was paid $500,000 to be his date.
“It’s not about the money. Kanye told her no more paid appearances. It was selling her soul and not worth it. How much more money does Kim need? It cheapens Kim and her brand to be paid to go to parties,” the source added.
We’ve also learned momager Kris Jenner is balking at West’s new demands because she gets a percentage of the paychecks her daughter collects!
“Kris gets a 10 percent cut of all deals she brokers on behalf of Kim, which means she made $50,000 off of the Austrian appearance,” the source said.
“She is always telling Kim that opportunities to make such big money isn’t always going to be there… her motto is, you have to strike while the iron is hot. So for the meantime, Kris doesn’t have any plans to cancel any of Kim’s upcoming appearances. In fact, she is still booking Kim! Kim is stuck in the middle.”

Lucifer’s Homegirl is one greedy pimp. Good lord. After the disaster that went down in Vienna, you’d think that Kris would realize that Kim needed to put the brakes on public appearances for a while. But Kris has no shame, and she’s raised her daughters without shame as well. Lily Allen: ‘I don’t think men are the enemy, I think women are the enemy’

Lily Allen is everywhere these days, promoting her new album and her questionable music video. Every red carpet, every opening of an envelope in the UK has involved Lily Allen trying to be the center of attention. Every UK magazine has run interviews with her, often cover stories. My take? Although I have sympathy for her reproductive issues, I think Lily is still the same trashy mess she’s always been. When she first came on the scene, she was a drunk drama queen always looking to start a fight. She’s mellowed a bit since then, but she still talks trash about everyone and everything. She has a new Shortlist interview and surprisingly, it’s not a litany of all of her famous friends and feuds. But she still manages to offend feminists, men, tomboys and on and on. Gender relations: “It’s much the same. But I don’t think men are the enemy, I think women are the enemy. I hate that word because it shouldn’t even be a thing any more. We’re all equal, everyone is equal so why is there even a conversation about feminism? What’s the man version of feminism? There isn’t even a word for it. There’s no reason for it. Menanism. Male-ism. It doesn’t exist… Fast-forward 100 years: ‘Yes, I do believe men should be treated equally.’”
Social media: “It’s a burden in the sense that there are people that take what I’ve brought as a marketing tool for them. And I don’t think you should use Twitter to sell records. Lupita Nyong'o spotted cuddling up to Somali rapper K'naan after first post Oscar TV appearance

In an interview with http://celebritywatchdog.blogspot.com/ the Wavin' Flag rapper said he had a tough time growing up in Canada after he moved from Somalia in the 90's, which led him to joining a gang: 
'I learned to fire guns at the age of nine or so, but luckily [I] was not out killing people. We zigzagged the streets to escape those trying to kill us.'
The rapper is now a reformed character and has a successful music career, with his song Wavin' Flag chosen as the official anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The singer's daughter - who he had with the late Whitney Houston - secretly married her fiancé Nick Gordon last month despite controversy over their unconventional relationship, since Nick was raised as her brother when the late superstar took him into her home 12 years ago.

However, her dad has denied knowledge of the nuptials between the two.

Bobby was quizzed on the wedding and told gossip website TMZ: "No, she didn't get married."

He added: "If she says she is. I don't know about it."

Bobbi and Nick hope to prove the sceptics wrong and plan to celebrate their commitment to one another for a second time with a big wedding later this year.

Bobbi previously said: "The criticism of our relationship only made us stronger. It lit a fire under our ass. We are officially married now but our wedding was just very low-key. But I can say that we're planning a big wedding later this year.

"It's going to be very royal, classic and beautiful - just a phenomenal ceremony. We're going for the full fairytale."

Jennifer Lawrence and Sandra Bullock lead the Best Actress nominations for Catching Fire and Gravity, respectively, and they are joined in the category by Jennifer's American Hustle co-star Amy Adams, We're the Millers star Jennifer Aniston and recently crowned Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o for 12 Years a Slave.

Both films have snagged eight nods apiece, while The Hunger Games: Catching Fire follows closely behind with seven nominations, and raunchy comedy We're the Millers has six.

Hustle, Wall Street and Catching Fire will all compete for the Movie of the Year prize, along with 12 Years a Slave - which earned the prestigious Best Picture prize at the Academy Awards on Sunday (02.03.14) - and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Meanwhile, Best Actor nominees include Dallas Buyers Club leading man Matthew McConaughey - who won the equivalent award at the Oscars - Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years), Josh Hutcherson (Catching Fire), Leonardo DiCaprio (Wall Street) and Bradley Cooper (American Hustle).

The humorous movie awards will also crown winners for Best Kiss, Best Shirtless Performance and WTF Moment.

Nominees for the topless award include Zac Efron for That Awkward Moment and Australian hunk Chris Hemsworth for Thor: The Dark World.

Cameron Diaz has also earned a nomination for WTF Moment following her infamous sex scene with a car in The Counsellor.

The 2014 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Conan O'Brien, take place on April 13 and will emanate from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

Lupita’s favourite lip balm sells out in stores across US

Kenyan actress and Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o sparked an immediate sellout of a lip balm brand across the US.

The sales of Clarins HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing lip balm skyrocketed overnight after Lupita dropped a tube into Ellen Degeneres hat which the host was using to collect money to pay a pizza delivery man.

When Lupita dropped the tube into the hat, on Sunday, Ellen excitedly picked it up and said “Lupita’s lip balm! That’s worth something!”

Soon after, #Lupitaslipbam started trending on twitter as viewers tried to find out what brand it was. Once they found out, the lip balm started flying off the shelves.

The French beauty brand immediately reaped big from the thirty seconds free, organic social advertising. The Clarins Group, the French luxury cosmetics company that manufactures the lip balm, put out a press release on Monday reporting that the lip balm had sold out in stores across the US and was only available online.

To satisfy demand, the company had to order additional stocks from France. It also offered limited free shipping for the product on its website.

The lip balm is currently not available over the shelves, but it is available online.

Meanwhile, Non-Stop a new movie featuring Lupita topped the US box office last weekend dislodging The Lego Movie, an animated film by Warner Bros. The action thriller, which opened on Friday, ended the animated movie’s three-week reign at the box office.

This feat came hours before Lupita’s historic moment at the Academy Awards where she won an Oscar for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in 12 Years a Slave.

Non-Stop held off a strong challenge by another new movie, Son of God, a story on Jesus’ life based on footage aired on the mini-series The Bible.

Non-Stop — which confines its entire drama inside an aeroplane flying from New York to London — raked in $30 million according to studio estimates. On the other hand, Son of God pulled in $26.5 million.

Lupita is featured as an air hostess. During the transatlantic flight, US Federal Air Marshal Bill Marks (Liam Neeson) starts receiving a series of mysterious texts demanding that he instructs the government to wire $150 million into an off-shore account.

The text messages state that until the money is wired, a passenger will be killed every 20 minutes.

As Marks tries to locate the source of the text messages, the first passenger is killed with another text message reiterating more deaths to follow if the transaction is not completed.

However, as Marks searches for the passenger responsible, US government officials whom he had relayed the message to discovered that the off-shore account they were supposed to route the money to was registered under his name.

Marks insists he is being framed, but he is now being treated as the main suspect and fighter jets are scrambled and can be seen surrounding the plane.

Unlike in 12 Years a Slave, Lupita’s role is not as pronounced and is mostly seen as an extra. She does most of her talking off-camera mostly making announcements through the plane’s public announcement system.

The longest on-camera and in focus segment she is featured in is towards the end of the movie, when she is encouraging a little girl to come from hiding.
